Growing Veterans: Dirt Therapy

Mission: To empower military veterans to grow food, communities, and each other.

Founded in 2012, Growing Veterans has been combining veteran reintegration with sustainable agriculture. Our unique model addresses the growing desire for alternative therapies for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), as well as suicide prevention through peer-support and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification.

Using the farm as the catalyst, we provide opportunities for veterans to engage in peer-support and engage with the broader community.

Thanks to all of our amazingly generous customers, together we have been able to raise thousands of  dollars for each of the following organizations:

  • Bikers Against Child Abuse $8,513
  • 2015 Wild Fire Relief $1,290
  • Wounded Warriors $5,970
  • Sarvey Wildlife $6,893
  • Knuckle Heads Barber Shop $1,150
  • 2 Bits & More $1,320
  • Alzheimer's Association $1,800
  • Growing Veterans $7,578
  • Stillaguamish Senior Center $3,248

Cascade Kropz Community

"Live for yourself and you will live in vain; Live for others, and you will live again.”

– Bob Marley

Community is everything. Being a tight knit family run business, we know firsthand how important it is to help one another out. We truly believe that a powerful, socially conscious community structure can relieve us from the pressures of the modern world, and make this world a better place for all of us. One Love ☮.

Good people DO smoke Marijuana!

Arlington Rotarians showed some "Service Above Self" at BSA Fire Mountain Camp on September 24th. Ferrying out supplies and tools Tom Sawyer style to the dive platform and constructing the second level occupied most of the club volunteers, while volunteers from the CIA (Carpenters In Action) quickly put together the changing rooms/lifeguard shack building.
On August 20, 15 Arlington Rotarians and friends help build a play ground at Reclamation Church west of Lakewood.
